Abstract. Purpose:To report an extremely low birth weight female infant born at gestational age of 24 weeks with bilateral congenital cataract and retinopathy of prematurity. Results:Retinopathy of prematurity was treated by laser photocoagulation in the right eye and by blind cryocoagulation in the left. Pars plana lensectomy was performed for congenital cataract in the left eye at 6month after birth. The patient is doing well until the present age of 19 months. Conclusion:Retinopathy of prematurity and congenital cataract may be managed even in an extremely low birth weight infant born at gestational age of 24 weeks.
