　1960年代に始まるSperry，Gazzanigaらの研究は，神経心理学に大きな進歩をもたらした。彼らは，左右大脳半球を連絡する脳梁が切断された患者―分離脳患者―を対象として，左半球あるいは右半球がどのような精神機能を司っているかを明らかにしてきた。そして，また，交連線維束である脳梁が切断されるとどういう症状が生ずるかという問題，いわゆる，交連線維のdisconnexion syndromeについても数々の知見をもたらした。

　1981年Sperry（1982）らは，ノーベル医学生理学賞を授与されたが，この分離脳に関する研究はその後も神経心理学の進歩に貢献している。左右半球の精神機能の問題についての最近の知見については、すでに別の所で論じたので（杉下，1984），本稿では，disconnexionsyndromeについての知見を自験例を中心に述べてみたい。具体的には，「左視野の失読」とdichotic listeningにおける「左耳刺激の無視」についてふれたい。

　Four problems on callosal disconnexion syndrome were studied.

　1. Pseudo-hemialexia

　A patient (H.I.) had an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in the splenium of the corpus callosum. The splenium was sectioned longitudinally, for 1.5~2cm during removal of the AVM. The posterior ventral part of the splenium was probably spared since the vein of Galen was not visible. There should be some damage in the medial part of the right parietooccipital region because of retraction or something else during the operation.

　The patient showed left tachistoscopic hemineglect.
