　はじめに

　頭頸部軟部組織から発生する大きな腫瘤としては，リンパ管腫，血管腫，耳下腺由来の腫瘤などがある。いずれも容貌に関連するため，患者は早期に受診するのが常であるが，中には長期にわたっての放置や急激な増大のため巨大腫瘤となってから来院することもある。今回，完治し得た巨大な顔面部腫瘤の2例について検討を加えたので報告する。

Case 1: a 89-year-old woman who complained of a large tumor on the right parotid region for more than 20 years. The tumor was totally re-sected without facial nerve injury.

Case 2: a 44-year-old man with von Reckling-hausen's disease, suffering from a large tumor of the left face. The tumor was resected and the facial nerve branches had to be removed in order to avoid excessive hemorrhage.

We stress the importance of preserving the facial nerve. And attention should be paid to the abundant vascularity of the face when treating giant tumors on the facial region.
