I．はじめに

　錐体尖端部巨大蜂巣は1978年Doubisら^1）によって最初に報告された。その後1982年にKraus^2）によって"The giant apical air cell syndrolne"として，この巨大蜂巣にspontaneous CSF rhinorrheaとrecurrent meningitisを合併した症例が発表されている。しかし本邦においてはわれわれが文献を渉猟しえた限りでは報告例がない。

　今回われわれはこの錐体尖端部巨大蜂巣と思われる1症例を経験したので報告する。

　Large air cells of the petrous apex was found by x-ray examination. The size of the cell was measured at the CT figures to be 1.75×1.50×2.00cm. It is suggested that this was the antroinferior type and they were caused by the hypergrowth of the antrolateral tract, the hypotympanic tract and the peritubal tract.

　After the survey of literatures, this is likely the first case in Japan.
