伏在眼球の一症例

A Case of Cryptophthalmos

緒言

　伏在眼球または眼球潜伏症Cryptophthalmosと呼ばれる先天奇形は比較的まれなもので，1872年にZehender^1）が第1例を報告して以来約50例の報告がなされた。邦文症例では1911年大西氏^2）の報告を第1例として，現在まで20例余の報告をみる。

　本症は正常の眼瞼および瞼裂を認め得ず，前頭部より連続した皮膚が眼窩前面を覆つて，眼窩内には発育不全な眼球が存在するものである。両眼の場合があり，また，種々の合併症を伴うもので，指趾癒合，生殖器奇形，顔面亀裂，兎唇，ヘルニア，精神発育遅延，他眼の異常（上眼瞼欠損，小眼球等）がみられる^3）。

In the present paper, a case of unilateralcryptophthalmos (left eye) was reported. A 7-day-old male newborn was admitted for the examination, because of that missing left eye-ball and the herelip (Fig. 1). He was operated twice. Initially, incision was made in the left palpebral region and the presence of soft corna covered with fibrous tissue was detected. Adhe-sion of the palpebral fissure developed a few days later so that it became necessary to re-move the eyeball one week later.

Main clinical and histopathological findings of the case were as follows;

1. Family history: the parents of the baby were first cousins.
