緒言

　1957年Roughton and Forster^1）が肺拡散能力（以下D_L）を肺胞膜拡散能力（以下D_M）と肺毛細管血量（以下Vc）との二つの因子に分離し測定する，原理ならびに方法を発表して以来，各種肺線維症の肺拡散を論じる場合，D_Mの測定は不可欠な課題となった。

　しかし，これらの測定は，ガス分析機器，操作の繁雑などの点で一般的でなかった。

The gas chromatograph modified of Mura-kami's method has been used to analyze gases for simultaneous measurements of pul-monary membrane diffusing capacity (D_Mco), pulmonary capillary blood volume (Vc) and its flow (Qc) using the breath-holding tech-nique. The two basic columns, silica gel (30 cm in length) and 5 A molecular sieves (290 cm in length) were arranged in series on a dual-column chromatograph with an empty coiled column (8 m in length) to make a balance of both columns. Accurate repro-ducible analyses for C₂H₂, CO, Ne, CO₂, O₂ and N₂ were obtained from a single 2ml gas sample.
