We observed two eyes which developed capsular block syndrome following cataract surgery with continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (CCC), phacoemulsification-aspiration and posterior chamber lens implanta-tion. The lens was unintentionally fixated at the ciliary sulcus in both eyes. Transparent liquid accumulated between the lens and the posterior capsule soon after surgery. The lens capsular was blocked externally at the margin of CCC opening anterior to the lens. The anterior chamber was consistently deep. The intraocular pressure was within normal range throughout. The liquid posterior to the lens disappeared spontaneously within 2 months after surgery. Capsular block syndrome has been reported to occur in eyes with in-the-bag fixated posterior chamber lens. The present cases illustrate that it may occur in eyes with sulcus-fixated posterior chamber lens.
