　脱臼した眼内レンズを毛様体溝に縫着する眼内カウヒッチ法を簡便化した手技を考案した。まず毛様溝縫着針に通した糸を強角膜創から前房内に進め，眼内レンズループの下から上へと糸の盲端をくぐらせ，再び眼外に出し，この部位でカウヒッチを作製する。この方法で6眼を手術した。全例に硝子体脱出や眼球虚脱などはなく，眼内レンズの偏位または傾斜も生じなかった。角膜輪部につくった小切開からの通糸操作だけで眼内レンズループに縫着用糸を縫合するこの手技は，有用であると結論される。

.　We simplified the cowhitch procedure with which the dislocated intraocular lens is sutured to the ciliary sulcus. The blind end of the thread,which is passed through a sulcus-fixation needle,is advanced through the corneoscleral wound into the anterior chamber. The thread is passed anteriorly through the loop of intraocular lens from its posterior aspect. The thread is further pushed anteriorly and,after emerging through the sclerocorneal wound,is tied to form a cowhitch knot. Six eyes were treated by this procedure with success. Vitreous prolapse or collapse of eyeball was absent throughout. After surgery,the intraocular lens was fixated without tilt or decentration. The findings show the usefulness of this simplified procedure.
