　白内障への超音波水晶体乳化吸引術中に，capsular block syndromeが3眼に生じた。3眼とも術前の散瞳が不十分で3mm程度であり，2眼には虹彩炎などの既往があった。このためにcontinuouscurvilinear capsulorrhexisが小さかった。水晶体嚢ブロックはhydrodissectionの直後に起こり，浅前房になり眼圧が上昇した。水晶体核を後方に押すなどの方法でブロックをただちに解除し，以後の経過は良好であった。

Capsular block syndrome developed in 3 eyes during cataract surgery using phacoemulsification. In all the 3 eyes, mydriasis was poor with the pupillary diameter of about 3 mm. Two eyes had the history of iritis. These fea-tures necessitated a small continuous curvilinear capsulorrhexis. Capsular block occurred immediately after hydrodis-section followed by shallow anterior chamber and elevated intraocular pressure. The capsular block was successfully treated by displacing the lens nucleus posteriorly. There was no further intra-or postoperative complications.
