In the present paper, a case of unilateralcryptophthalmos (left eye) was reported. A 7-day-old male newborn was admitted for the examination, because of that missing left eye-ball and the herelip (Fig. 1). He was operated twice. Initially, incision was made in the left palpebral region and the presence of soft corna covered with fibrous tissue was detected. Adhe-sion of the palpebral fissure developed a few days later so that it became necessary to re-move the eyeball one week later.

Main clinical and histopathological findings of the case were as follows;

1. Family history: the parents of the baby were first cousins.
