Purpose:To report a case of neuroretinitis secondary to cat-scratch disease. Case:A 64-year-old female developed fever and blurred vision in her left eye 8 days before. She had been keeping three cats for 15 years. Her corrected visual acuity was 0.8 right and 0.05 left. Her left eye showed swelling of optic disc and exudative retinal detachment involving the macula. Results:Positive serum antibody to Bartonella henselae led to diagnosis of neuroretinitis secondary to cat-scratch disease. She was treated by pulsed and retrobulbar corticosteroid. The visual acuity recovered to 0.7 one year later. The affected eye showed optic atrophy. Conclusion:Neuroretinitis as manifestation of cat-scratch disease may run a protracted course.
