未熟児網膜症の発症・治療時期の体重増加率

Rate of weight gain in infants after onset and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity

目的：未熟児網膜症の発症と治療開始前後での体重増加率と網膜症との関連の検索。対象と方法：過去4年間に新生児科に入院した児のうち，網膜光凝固を行った20例20眼を対象とした。在胎期間が同程度で，無治療で網膜症が軽快した20例20眼を対照とした。網膜症の発症時点を起点とし，毎週の体重増加率を測定した。結果：発症前後の体重増加率は，治療群と無治療群の間に差はなかった。結論：体重増加率は，未熟児網膜症の発症または進行速度と無関係である。

Purpose：To clarify the correlation between retinopathy of prematurity（ROP）and rate of weight gain before or after onset of ROP. Cases and Method：This retrospective study was made on infants admitted to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit during the past 4 years. We evaluated 20 eyes of 20 infants who received photocoagulation for ROP. In another series of 20 eyes of 20 infants served as control,in whom ROP healed spontaneously without photocoagulation. Body weight was measured and converted into gain per week in both groups. Results：There was no significant difference between the two groups regarding rate of weight gain before or after ROP became manifest. Conclusion：Rate of weight gain is not related to onset or progression of ROP.
