臨床疫学は臨床医学と疫学の融合した，目の前の患者の問題を解決するための学問であり，EBMの根幹をなす。臨床疫学の知識を身につけるには臨床疫学研究の実践が必須であり，真のEBMの実践を目指す臨床家こそ行うべきである。優れた臨床疫学研究には優れた設計図が必須である。本稿では臨床疫学研究の実践にあたり，臨床で生じた疑問から論文執筆までの道のりを解説する。

Clinical medicine is the discipline of answering clinical questions with the best available evidence for individual patients. Epidemiology is the study of disease occurrence in populations. Clinical epidemiology is the fusion of clinical medicine and epidemiology and is the foundation of Evidence-Based Medicine. The practice of clinical epidemiology research is essential for clinicians to solve patient problems based on Evidence-Based Medicine. This article will describe the road map from clinical questions that arise in daily practice to writing a paper in clinical epidemiology research.
