I．はじめに

　突発性難聴として診断された疾患の中には種々の検査の結果，背後の原因疾患に伴って発症したものもあることが多く報告されている。今回われわれは突発的な聴力低下で発症し，治療により聴力が改善してその後1年9か月経過した現在でもなお聴力の再悪化をみない聴神経腫瘍例を経験したので報告する。

　A case of acoustic tumor with initial symptom of sudden hearing loss was reported. CT scan showed that the tumor was expanded to the left cerebellopontine angle and the size was about 20 mm. The neurological examinations except forABR showed no abnormal findings. Hearing was rapidly improved by conservative therapy. The hearing has been remained almost normal then-after and the growth of the tumor has not beendemonstrated on CT scan. When we encounter a patient complaining of sudden hearing loss, we should take the possibility of an acoustic tumor into consideration, even if hearing is improving.
