  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A patient of atypical acoustic neurinoma presentedwith fluctuating hearing loss which was occurred predominantly in the range of 2, 4 kHz on audiogram. The mechanism of the fluctuating hearing can be explained by that the cerebellopontine mass may exert pressure upon the anterior inferior cerebellar artery, and it may cause the reversible change in the inner ear function.

When a physician examines the patients with recurrent sensoryneural type of hearing loss, the possibility of acoustic neurinoma should be considered especially if roentgenograms demonstrate the questionable dilatation of the internal auditory canal.
