　緒言

　1892年Mikuliczが涙腺及び唾液腺の慢性対称性無痛性腫脹を来した症例を報告して以来，同様の症例がMikulicz氏病又はMikulicz氏症候群の名の下に続々と報告され，本邦に於いても既に50数例の報告を数えている。我が教室に於いても昭和27年以降その5例を経験しているが，その中の1例と他の4例とは病理組織学的にも臨床的にも明かに病像を異にしているので，特にその相違点を比較検討してみた。

Kitamura and Fuse state that Mikulicz' disease, from their experience in histopatho-logical study of 5 such cases within the period of last 5 years, may be classified into two different types. In the first type the structure of the glandular lobule of the salivary gland is highly infiltratrd by round cells without the presence of eosinophils; the second type is characterized by presence of eosino-phils with lesser degree of round cell infitra-tion. The recognition and differentiation of these two types are necessarily dependent on microscopic examination.
