　緒言

　上顎悪性腫瘍の診断に，之と鑑別を要すべき疾患の1つとしては，常に上顎梅毒が挙げられてはいるが，その病態に就ての詳細な記載は発見できない。僅かに岡田氏，西脇氏，松田氏，青木氏等の報告を見るにすぎない。著者は今回，臨床的に上顎悪性腫瘍を疑われた患者が，実は上顎梅毒であつた症例を経験したので，その大要を報告する。

HARAGUCHI reports a case of syphilitic gumma involving the right maxillary sinus that mani ested itself with bizarre of symp-toms. The patient, a man aged 45, complained of headache, swelling of right cheek, a large amount of malodorous nasal discharges and frequent repeated epistaxis. The right maxi-llary sinus was opened for exploratory obser- vations. Gummatons degeneration was found on the posterior wall of the sinus cavity. The patient made an uneventful recovery with anti-syph litic treatments.
