I．はじめに
当院は1957年6月に開院した，川崎市南西部に位置する定床660床（2005年1月より定床610床）の基幹病院である。耳鼻咽喉科は医師6名（専門医5名）で，30床を定床としている（2005年1月より26床）。耳鼻咽喉科医にとって，手術加療は主な治療法の一つであるが，統計的な検討は少ない。今回，われわれは過去4年間の中央手術室における手術症例を検討をしたので報告する。
A study was made on 1662 cases which had undergone surgery in the past 4 years. Male cases outnumbered femal cases. Differences in diseases due to the life style centering around smoking and restricted opportunity peculiar to females were mentioned as the cause. The proportion of the patients aged 65 or older was 18. 5％.
The proportion of general anesthesia aiming at avoidance of intraoperative pain and shortening of the hospital stay was increased.
