　広島県御調町で緑内障などの検出を目的として眼科検診を実施した。住民約8,000人のうち278名が受診し，視力，眼圧，細隙灯顕微鏡，眼底撮影の検査を受けた。69名（25％）が要精査と判定され，うち27名（10％）43眼に乳頭所見から緑内障が疑われた。69名中47名（68％）が二次検診を受け，10名18眼が緑内障と診断された。視神経乳頭評価の緑内障スクリーニングにおける敏感度は94％であった。一般住民を対象とする健康診断では，視神経乳頭の評価に加えて簡便な視野検査を導入することが望ましい。

In order to detect eye diseases includig glaucoma, a health-check program was performed in Mitsugi town, Hiroshima prefecture. Out of the population of about 8,000, 278 persons participated in the program. They were examined for or by visual acuity, intraocular pressure, slit-lamp microscopy and fundus photography. More detailed ex-aminations were found necessary in 69 persons (25%), including 43 eyes of 27 persons (10%) who were suspected for glaucomatous optic disc. Out of the 69 persons, 47 (68%) underwent further examinations and 18 eyes of 10 per-sons were diagnosed with glaucoma. The sensitivity of optic disc assessment in glaucoma screening was 94%. We ad-vocate portable perimetry in addition to fundus photography in glaucoma screening.
