　アトピー白内障手術後にヤグレーザーによる後発白内障切開術を必要とした症例を検討した。対象は，超音波白内障手術と眼内レンズ挿入術を受けた2施設での51例74眼である。年齢は17歳から49歳，平均30.1歳であった。術後6か月から8年6か月（平均3年8か月）の間に，20眼（27％）がヤグレーザーによる後発白内障切開術を必要とした。この頻度は，通常の白内障に対して報告されている術後5年間での30.4％とほぼ同じであった。

We reviewed the incidence of YAG laser posterior capsulotomy following surgery for atopic cataract. The series comprised 74 eyes of 51 patients who underwent phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation. Their ages ranged from 17 to 49 years, average 30.1 years. YAG posterior capsulotomy had to be performed in 20 eyes (27%) during the observation period of 6 months to 8 years 6 months, average 3 years 8 months. This incidence was almost same as that for senile cataracts which was reported to be 30.4% during 5 years after surgery.
