　点眼麻酔下小切開白内障手術において，緑内障眼の除外などの症例選択を行わず，予防的眼圧降下治療も行わない場合の術後24時間の眼圧経過をプロスペクティブに調べた。対象は，白内障単独手術施行予定者のうち，術施行3,6,10,24時間後の眼圧測定が業務上可能という点のみで選ばれた69例78眼である。手術施行眼の術前および術施行3,6,10,24時間後の眼圧の平均値は，14.7,18.6,19.4,18.4，15.1mmHgであった。経過中に眼圧が30 mmHgを越えたのは7眼で，いずれも緑内障眼であった。小切開白内障手術においては術後眼圧の上昇は軽度であるが，緑内障眼については術後24時間の眼圧上昇を警戒するべきと考えられた。

We prospectively measured the intraocular pressure during 24 hours after small-incision cata-ract surgery under instillation anesthesia. The study included 78 eyes without precluding glaucoma or preventive antiglaucomatous medication. The intraocular pressure averaged 14.7 mmHg before surgery. It averaged 18.6, 19.4, 18.4 and 15.1 mmHg at 3, 6, 10 and 24 hours respectively after surgery. The postoperative intraocular pressure was 30 mmHg or more in 7 glaucomatous eyes. The rise of postoperative intraocular pressure was not serious after small-incision cataract surgery except in glaucomatous eyes.
