　春季カタル患者24例に対し懸濁性ステロイド剤トリアムシノロンの瞼結膜下注射を施行した。この治療法による有効例は22例，無効例は2例，中止例は2例であった。有効例では注射後角膜病変，乳頭ともに軽快していた。初回の注射のみで半数の症例に効果があり，他の有効例では月1回の注射を反復することによって効果が出現した後は，3〜4か月に1回の注射で悪化を抑制できた。球結膜下注射を行ったものと比較して，この治療法では治療開始後2年目以降で軽症化するものが多くみられた。懸濁性ステロイド剤の瞼結膜下注射は年長児の春季カタルには有用な治療方法である。

We treated 24 bilateral cases of vernal ker-atoconjunctivitis with emulsion of triamcinoloneacetonide injected in the subconjunctival tissue ofthe upper eyelid. This method was effective in 20cases. The effects were insufficient in 2 cases andthe therapy had to be discontinued in the other 2cases. A single injection of 5 mg of triamcinoloneacetate induced excellent results. Additional injec-tions were necessary for remission in the othercases. After initial improvement, similar treatment at intervals of 3 to 4 months was sufficient toprevent recurrences. There was no adverse effectexcept one case of ocular hypertension. This treat-ment is not recommended for children because ofpain during injection.
