  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

We observed three cases of bilateral chorio-retinitis with strikingly characteristic features in common. All were females and were aged 58,59 and 60 years respectively. All the cases manifested mild signs of inflammation in the anterior segment,nod-ules in the chamber angle and mild to moderate diffuse vitreous opacity. Fundus lesions were char-acterized by small, round, yellowish-white exudates disseminated over the equator and the periphery. The exudates occasionally fused and simulated retinal necrosis. Occlusion of retinal artery and sheathing of retinal vein were also present. The retinal lesions gradually subsided after systemic treatment with corticosteroid and acyclovir in massive doses. Tests of serum and aqueous humor were suggestive of infection by herpes simplex virus.
