　再発例5眼を含む翼状片46眼に切除術を行った。23眼には0.02％，他の23眼には0.04％のマイトマイシンCを術翌日から1日3回で2日間点眼した。再発が前群で1眼，後群で2眼あった。合併症として角膜びらんと結膜浮腫が計11眼に生じた。再発率と合併症の頻度に，両群間の有意差はなかった。角膜内皮細胞と前房内蛋白濃度に術前後の変動はなかった。マイトマイシンC0.02％の点眼でも，安全かつ有効な治療成績が得られた。

We resected pterygium in 46 eyes including 5 recurrent cases. Mitomycin C was instilled 3 times daily for 2 postoperative days. A group of 23 eyes received 0.02% mitomycin C and another group of 23 eyes received 0.04%. Pterygium recurred in one eye in the former group and in two eyes in the latter. Complications including corneal erosion and chemosis developed in a total of 11 eyes. There was no significant difference between the two groups in the rate of recurrence or frequency of complications. No changes were observed in the corneal endothelial cells or aqueous flare before and after surgery throughout. The findings show the efficacy and safety of 0.02% mitomycin C in the postsurgical treatment of pterygium.
