　加齢性黄斑変性症の脈絡膜新生血管（CNV）のインドシアニングリーン螢光眼底造影（IA）所見の読影の基礎を得る目的で，黄斑下新生血管切除術を行った7例7眼の摘出標本と術前IA所見とを比較検討した。具体的には，摘出CNVの術中の広がり，位置関係を手術用顕微鏡下で確認し，その所見と，IA像とを直接重ね合わせることを初めて試みた。

　術前IAにてCNVは過螢光斑として描出されたが，その所見とは異なり，実際の摘出標本の大きさは，より広範囲であることが確認された。また過螢光部は，摘出標本の最も肥厚した部位であることが判明した。

　この事実は，IA読影の基礎となるだけでなく，レーザー治療の実施において重大な問題である。

We surgically removed the submacular neovascular membrane in 7 eyes of age-related macular degeneration. Intraoperatively identified location of neovascular membrane was compared with indocyanine green (ICG) angiograms by superpositioning. The actual extent of the neovascular membrane was more extensive than that identified by ICG angiography. The area of hyperfluorescence corresponded to the most thickened portion of the neovascular membrane. These findings would serve as guidelines in the interpreta-tion of ICG angiographic findings and in planning laser treatment for submacular neovascularization.
