APMPPEの原因は不明であるが，今回の症例において，ブドウ膜炎を伴っておりなんらかの炎症性病変であることが推定でき，APMPPEの特徴的な螢光所見である初期の背景螢光が陰性像を呈するのは，脈絡膜毛細血管の閉塞のみではなく，網膜色素上皮病変によるフイルター役もまた関与していることが確認された。
There are two schools concerning the location of fundus lesion involved in acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy (APMPPE). One considers the retinal pigment epithelium as the primarily affected structure, while the other main-tains that the choriocapillaris is primarily affected with secondary involvement of the retinal pigment epithelium.
We observed a 29-year-old male with typical features of APM PPE associated with uvcitis in his left eye.
