緒言
交叉現象特にその著明なるものは，網膜細動脈が血圧亢進，乃至は細動脈の緊張亢進に反応して生ずる反応性硬化又は高圧硬化の所見であるとの見解は，前報までの検討によつて妥当であると信ぜられた。併し次の現象はこのような見解と矛盾し或いは説明が困難であつた。
1．血圧亢進が，10年以上に及ぶ症例の中にも交叉現象の著明でないものがみられた（第2報，第3表）。
1. In the clinical observation of the relation-ship between arteriovenous crossing pheno-menons in the fundus and systemic blood pressure, age or diabetes, the authers noticed the following findings :
1) Cases of slight arteriovenous nickings were seen in spite of long duration of hyperte nsion extending over 10 years.
2) The incidence of marked arteriovenous nicking showed tendency to decrease in the advanced age of over 70.
3) The arteriovenous nicking in the marked myopic fundus seemed to be mild in general.
