I．緒言

　所謂中心性網膜炎は日常左程稀な疾患ではない。然るに本症の病因に就ての諸家の見解はなお一致を見ず，従つてその治療についても新しい治験が続々と報告され，一定した治療法は確立されていない。かかる現状に於て，本症について種々な統計を行い，過去のそれと比較検討することは無意義ではあるまい。著者はこれによつて本症の最近の傾向を掴もうと試み，治療についても若干の検討を加えてみたので報告する。

Forty two cases (1.45%) of retinitis centr-alis of the outpatients who numbered 2874 in 1960 were investigated statistically from the various aspects. These results were of inter-est in two ways. First, the number of the patients did not reveal any difference bet-ween male and female. Second, on the treatm-ent the cases which were treated with the local application (subconjunctival and retrob-ulbar injection) or the internal use of dexa-methazone (Decadron and Methazolon) showed very satisfactory results.
