I．緒言

　中心性網膜炎の成因には従来から諸説があつていまだ一定しない。著者ら^1）〜3）は先に過去7年間における教室の本症患者の統計的観察を行ない，年齢，職業等から考えて自律神経不安定徴候の一つとしてとらえることができると述べた。この自律神経機能状態を推測する方法に近年mecholyltestが取り入れられ各科の領域に利用されている。著者らも本症患者にmecholyl testを試み，本症の成因を追求せんとした。まだ20例あまりであるが，一応予報として報告する。

Mecholyl test on 21 patients with retinitis centralis and 20 controls was performed. Twen-ty four per cent of the controls showed S type (sympathetic hyperreactor), 56% N type (inter-mediate group), and 20% P type (sympathetic hyporeactor), whereas 14.3% of the patients revealed S type, 57.1% N type, and 28.6% P type respectively. Evident edemata of the ma-cular regions (Masuda's disease) were observed in the fundi of the patients who revealed N type and dirty colored without central reflex in the fundi of the patients P type of mecholyl test.
