要約　目的：術前視力が良好な網膜剝離眼でのコントラスト感度の術後変化の検索。症例：強膜輪状締結術を行った網膜剝離25例25眼を対象とした。術前矯正視力は全例で0.9以上であった。コントラスト感度は，その曲線下の面積に相当するarea under log contrast sensitivity function（以下，AULCSF）として数値化した。結果：AULCSFについては，術前の患眼と僚眼との間に有意差があった（p＜0.05）。患眼の術前，術後，僚眼の矯正視力については，いずれにも有意差がなかった。術前後のコントラスト感度の変化量と剝離面積との間に有意な相関があった（r_s＝0.54，p＜0.05）。結論：コントラスト感度は黄斑が剝離していない網膜剝離眼でも低下し，剝離の復位後に改善し，その程度は復位した剝離面積と相関する。

Abstract.　Purpose：To evaluate changes in contrast sensitivity after surgery for retinal detachment in eyes with full visual acuity. Cases：This study was made on 25 eyes of 25 patients with retinal detachment that received scleral encircling. All the eyes had corrected visual acuity of 0.9 or better. Contrast sensitivity was expressed as area under log contrast sensitivity function（AULCSF）. Results：There was a significant difference in preoperative AULCSF between affected and contralateral eyes（p＜0.05）. There was no significant differences among corrected visual acuity in contralateral and affected eyes before or after surgery. Changes in contrast sensitivity after surgery was significantly correlated with the area of retinal detachment（r_s＝0.54,p＜0.05）. Conclusion：There is a decrease in contrast sensitivity in retinal detachment without macular involvement. The contrast sensitivity improves after reattachment. Rate of improvement is positively correlated with the area of retinal detachment.
