A CASE OF PITUICYTOMA

I．はじめに

　最近私どもは術前に第3脳室腫瘍，特にコロイド嚢腫と診断し，手術時に第3脳室および視神経にコロイド様物質をみいだしてこれを摘除したが，術後56日目に肺炎および脳膜炎で死亡し，その剖検脳の組織学的検索により，下垂体後葉グリア由来のpituicytomaと診断されたきわめて稀な症例を経験したのでその概要を述べ，主として臨床上2,3の問題について考察を加えたい。

Recently we had a rare tumor in the pituitary gland of a 17 year-old male.

The clinical diagnosis was obtained a colloid cyste of the third ventricle because of his attack of severe headache with nausea and vomiting occured with constant interval, of Foster-Kennedy syndrom and of roentogenological and other finding. The tumor was the third ventricle was removed completely, but he died of pneumonia and purulent meningitis 56 days after the operation unfortunately.

At autopsy, the tumor of over thumb-tip-size in the infundibulum extended to the basis of the third ventricle, and the pituitary gland was pressed flatt beneath the tumor. Histological examination of the tumor and the posterior lobe of the gland showed a pilocytic astrocytoma.

The pathological diagnosis was infundibulo-pituicy-toma, considering the position in which the tumor was localized.
