頭蓋内疾患に対するHyperbaric Therapy

HYPERBARIC THERAPY APPLIED TO THE CASE OF INTRACRANIAL DISEASES

I．はじめに

　私どもが「高圧酸素療法」という言葉を耳にしたのはごく最近のことであるが，高気圧環境の医学的応用の試みは歴史的にはかなり古いもののようである。しかしこの研究が学問的裏づけをもつて活発な検討が加えられ，かつ現在のようなはなばなしいブームを起こしたのはBoerema^1）（1956）の心臓外科への応用に始まる。また最近では医学的適応範囲の拡大とともに脳外科疾患にも応用されつつあり，すでに斎藤^2）（1958）の脳卒中後遺症への応用報告があり，好結果を得たと述べている。われわれも高圧環境を各種頭蓋内疾患に応用して予期以上の効果を認め，積極的に行なつているので，その概略を基礎的研究をも含めて報告する。

Medical appliance of OHP has been prevalent of late and brought about favorable results, and so has our experience in which it was applied to the case of intracranial disease.

It is summerized that (1) OHP was effective in both operated and non-operated cases of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage and the case of cerebral infarction, (2) OHP helped improve disturbance of consciousness and paralysis occurred to both operat-ed and non-operated cases of head injury, and headache and dizziness from traumatic sequelae dis-appeared by its appliance, and (3) experimentally, common carotid Po2 and brain tissue Po2 under 2 ATA air increased by 70% and cerebral circulation was to decrease by 4% logically, thus the increase of Po2 far over the decrease of cerebral circulation under 1.7-2.0 ATA air was considered to be an evidence of clinical effectiveness of OHP.
