I.はじめに
下垂体成長ホルモンのradioimmunoassayに関する研究は近年長足の進歩をとげ巨端症のごとき疾患の治療に際してそのホルモン分泌量の消長を知ることができるようになつた。われわれも最近巨端症の1例においてコバルト照射中の血中成長ホルモンの分泌量を測定し,その推移が治療方針の決定に大きな役割を果すことを知る機会を得た。本症例ではさらに左側頭葉にも腫瘍が存在し,この腫瘍は開頭術によつて摘除され組織学的検査によつて上衣細胞腫と診断された。すなわち下垂体腺腫と左側頭葉の上衣細胞腫とが同時に存在していた症例である。この症例では特にその診断,コバルト照射中の血中成長ホルモンや血清無機燐の推移に二,三の興味ある知見を得たのでここに報告する。
We have presented a left temporal lobe tumor with acromegaly. The patient is a 29-year-old Japan-ese male who was admitted to our clinic because of double vision, headache for 9 months and involuntary movement of left upper extremity for a month. Al-though pituitary adenoma was suspected at first be-cause of acromegaly, the examination revealed there was another (one more) brain tumor in the left tem-poral lobe. This tumor was surgically removed insuccess and cellular type of ependymoma was rec-ognized. 60Co-radiation against pituitary adenoma was given with measurement of plasma HGH (human growth hormone) by radioimmunoassay. Reduced HGH and inorganic phosphate was observed in the course of the irradiation. At prestent, one year after operation, there is no evidence of recurrence.
