A Case Report of Pituitary Hemorrhage

Ⅰ．緒言

　いわゆるPituitary apoplexyとは，頭痛・急激な視力障害・意識障害などを主徴する脳下垂体への出血で，比較的まれなものである．われわれは，術前脳下垂体腺腫の診断で開頭したが，組織学的検索により腫瘍を見出し得ない比較的慢性の経過をとった脳下垂体出血と診断された症例を経験したのでその概要を述べるとともに，本邦におけるその報告例について若干の考察を加えてみたい．

There have been approximately 180 case reports of Pituitary apoplexy since the original report by Bleibtreu in 1905. The authors report their experience with a ease of pituitary hemorrhage.

A 20 year-old woman had been suffering from visual disturbance since the beginning of 1968. When she was admitted to our hospital on May 15 of that year, the main positive findings of the examination were amenorrhea, obesity and loss of visual acuity with optic nerve atrophy on the right. Plain skull films demonstrated ballooned sella.
