Amyloid PET is a method that is used to determine the indication of the amyloid β antibody therapy. A positive or negative amyloid PET scan is determined by visual read. This determination procedure is specified for each drug:florbetaben, florbetapir, and flutemetamol. A positive scan indicates moderate to frequent amyloid neuritic plaques. The agreement rate between readers is high, around 90%. In most cases, it is not difficult to make a decision, but there are a number of cases in which it is difficult to interpret the images. It is recommended that semi-quantitative values such as the Centiloid scale be used as reference only.
