サブストラクションの原理と実際—サブストラクションを自分のものにするために

The Concise Guide on Use of Substruction for Japanese Nurses

　サブストラクションは，仮説検証型の実証研究や調査研究において，その理論的基盤と研究方法とのつながりを具体的にチェックする有用な方法論である。サブストラクションで検討される事柄には，研究の理論的基盤や仮説の妥当性をはじめ，概念から測定する変数を導き出す道筋や，実際の測定用具の選択・検討なとが含まれている。

　本論文では，サブストラクションの手がかりとなる「ヘルスケアリサーチのためのアウトカムモデル」について具体例をあげながら説明するとともに，そのうち1つの研究についてのサブストラクションの実際の道程を示しつつ，その構造について「理論的システム」，「操作的システム」，「関係性の記述」の順で説明を行なった。また，サブストラクションに耐えうる研究の条件とサブストラクションに適した研究のタイプとを示すとともに，その限界についても言及した。

　The purposes of this article are (1) to put the heuristic techniques of the Outcomes Model of Health Care Research (Holzemer, W. L., 1994) and substruction (Hinshaw, A. S., 1979; Dulock, M. L. & Holzemer, W. L., 1991) into practice by using example researches the author newly developed for helping Japanese nurses to obtain clear understanding, and (2) to describe issues regarding the strength and limitation of substruction. The actual process of substructing and linking to the Outcomes Model are showed, and the structure of their “theoretical system”, “operational system” and “relational statements” are identified. In addition, suitable research designs or conditions for substructing are discussed.
