Fossa tonsillaris superior（笹木）はFossula tonsillares superiorと改めるのが妥当である

A PROPOSITION ON THE CHANGE OF TERMINOGY, "FOSSA TONSILLARIS SUPERIOR" TO "FOSSULA TON-SILLARES SUPERIOR"

　I．はじめに

　この論文の目的は上扁桃窩（Fossa tonsinalis superior）（笹木）を，上扁桃小窩（Fossula tonsilares supcrior）と改称することが用語統一の見地から妥当であると提案することにある。

　Rauber named the small triangular recess above the palatine tonsil bounded anteriorly, by the glossopalatine fold, posteriorly by pharyngopalatine fold and below by the tosillar tissue itself as the fossa supratonsillaris and the minute spaces found in the tonsillar tissue as fossula tonsillares.

　However, later in 1931, Sasaki named the most upper minute space founded in the tonsillar tissue as fossa tonsillaris superior.

　In order to avoid any further confusion the author suggested, that fossa tonsillaris superior (Sasaki) might be termed fossula tonsillares superior.
