　6例の上輪部角結膜炎superior limbickeratoconjunctivitis （SLK）に対しビタミンA点眼（retinyl palmitate 500IU／ml）による治療を行った．6例中，従来の治療では難治であった4症例を含め，5症例（83％）で有効であり，他の1例についても自覚症状が消失した．ビタミンA点眼開始後2週間で4例（67％），1カ月後には更に1例，計5例（83％）と早期に効果が出現した．また，点眼投与期間は5カ月〜11カ月（平均6.7月）であるが，いずれの症例でも副作用は認められなかった．

　今回の成績より，SLKに対してビタミンA点眼療法が第一選択となると考えられた．

We treated 6 cases with suprior limbic keratoconjun-ctivitis by topical instillation of retinyl palmitate solu-tion, 500 IU/ml, 4 times a day. All the cases were adults between 36 and 72 years in age. One was male and 5 were females.

The superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis lesion disappeared in 5 out of the 6 patients 2 to 4 weeks after initiation of treatment. These 5 patients included 4 who failed to respond to previous, conventional forms of treatment.

No adverse reactions were observed during the follow-up period of 5 to 11 months, average 6.7 months, while the patients were still under treatment. We advocate topical vitamin A as the preferred modality of therapy for superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis.
