耳鼻咽喉科領域におけるCathocyclineの使用経験

EXPERIENCES IN THE USE OF CATHOCYCLINE IN THE FIELD OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY

　緒言

　最近抗生物質の発達は一応その極に達したかの観があるが，ここに幾つかの問題が提起されている。それは1）耐性菌に対する対策，2）投与法即ち内服にするか，注射にするか，局所に適用するか，注射でも筋注にするか静注にするか，3）毒性を如何にして減少するか，4）抗生物質の価格の低廉殊にその生産に最も有利な培地の発見等である。これ等は我々臨床医と直接関係ある問題であり，1），3）の問題に関連を持つて数種類の薬剤を同時に投与すると云うことはわれわれが日常やつていることであり，これが1本のアンプル或いは1つのカプセルに最も有効な割合に含有されていれば大変便利である。その効果は当然臨床実験で試さねばならない。

　私は最近，従来使用されている抗生物質chlortetracyclineと新抗生物質novobiocinを2：1の割合に含有するCathocyclineを耳鼻科的疾患に使用する機会を得たので，ここにその成績を報告する。

　The use of cathocycline in infectious diseases in the field of otolaryngology is summarized as follows:

　1) In 82 cases of generalized administration of this agent 75.6% showed a marked effectivity, moderately so in 12.2%, questionable effectivity in 9.8% and no effectivity in 2.4%.

　2) By local use the agent appeared to be effective in 21 cases of the total 22.

　3) With sensitivity tests there was 1 case in 30 who showed to be resistant

　4) With side effects among the 82 cases in which the agent was used there was 1 case who developed a rash and 2 cases of gastrointestinal disturbance.
