 The use of vesprin as a preoperative medication for prevention of nausea and vomiting during and after operation was favorable in 134 operative cases. The agent appeared to be especially effective towards prevention of vomiting during general anesthesia. In addition the agent seem to act as a tranquillizer, reenforcing the anesthesia, and retarding secretory activity not as strong as beladonna but much longer in duration. There is one disadvantage that it has a tendency to lower the blood pressure particulary, when the operation is performed in a sitting posture but, this action is rather transcient and easily recoverable; the safety range of this drug appears to be quite wide in its application. Vesprin appears to be a drug which is taking the place of chlorpromazine of the past
