Sato and associataes maintain that the only way by which oltaction may be registered is through the nasal end organs: other sources, such as vascular routes by intravenous intro-duction of ordorous agents, are incapable, per se, of causing a registration of the sense of smell. Particularly is the latter Point born out vividly by absence of olfaction during intrave-nous injections when respiration is temporarily abrogated. Through their investigations the au-thors hold that the so-called circulatory olfa-ction, proposed by Bednar, Langfelder and othe-rs, is noted by its absence: ostensible olfaction under such circumstances resolve to be no more than a result obtained through the ordinary route of nasal olfaction.
