嗅覚に関する研究—正常者の嗅覚異種疲労について

　緒言

　嗅覚疲労に関する実験的研究はE. Aronsohn以来種々報告されており，本邦においても飯田，百合野等の報告が見られる。H. Zwaardemaker.は，嗅覚疲労を同種疲労及び異種疲労に分類しているが，そのうち同種疲労に関しては，先きに我々の一人小松が実験を行い，疲労型の分類及び，諸知見を得た事を報告した（日耳鼻，63巻5号）。しかるに異種疲労に関しては，わずかにZwaardemaker，Aronsohn等の報告並びに合馬のこれを逆に利用した嗅素の類属判定についての実験があるにすぎない。

　今回我々は，異種疲労に関して正常者40名に検査を施行したので其成績並びに種々考察検討の結果を報告する。

　The effect of fatigue in differentiation of smell is experimented with 40 individuals whose sense of smell was apparently normal by using various dilutions of various fruit essences such as muskmelon, strawberry, coffee and peach.

　The fatigue element in differentiation was recognized when the odors used was somewhat resembling each other ;but, when these were totally different on fatigue element was shown.

　It appeared that a particular odor is composed of a conglomeration of odors that may be more elemental and that the body is provided with groups of receptors that are capable of detecting such an element.
