外来における視覚障害患者の検討

A review of visually impaired patients in our outpatient department

（展示161）　1994年の当科初診患者のうち，障害程度等級が1級から6級に該当する視覚障害者228名を検討した。60歳以上が175名（77％），40歳未満が10名（4％）であった。男子が105名（46％），女子が123名（54％）であった。変性近視が53名（23％）と最も多かった。糖尿病網膜症が49名（22％），緑内障が43名（19％）にあった。50歳未満では特徴的な原因疾患がなく，先天性素因による障害が主体であった。

We reviewed the consecutive series of 228 legally blind patients at an urban hospital during 1994. The series included 175 patients (77%) aged 60 years or over and 10 patients (4%) under 40 years of age. There were 105 males (46%) and 123 females (54%). Degenerative myopia was the most common cause involving 53 patients (23%). There were 49 patients (22%) with diabetic retinopathy and 43 (19%) with glaucoma. Visual impairment in patients under 50 years of age was mainly due to various heredodegenerative conditions.
