  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 9-year-old boy presented with bilateral visual impairment. He had been diagnosed as neurofibromatosis of von Recklinghausen at the age of 10 months. Initial routine examinations showed no abnormalities except myopia. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed optic nerve glioma in the optic chiasma. Another perimetry by Goldmann perimeter showed enlarged blind spot and right homonymous scotoma. This case illustrates that MRI may lead to the detection of optic nerve glioma secondary to neurofibromatosis.
