We reviewed a series of 119 eyes which received simultaneous trabeculotomy, phacoemulsification-aspiration and intraocular lens implantation performed by one surgeon. The intraocular pressure (IOP) averaged 22.3±3.8 mmHg before and 15.4±2.4 mmHg 12 months after surgery. The postoperative decrease in IOP was significant (p<0.001). The drug score was 3.9±1.5 before and 0.7±1.1 after surgery. The difference was significant. The rate of successful IOP control below 21 mmHg and 18 mmHg at 12 months was 97.5% and 78.5% respectively. Serious complication was absent throughout. The findings show that the current procedure for glaucoma and cataract is safe and effective.
