  • Look Inside

We asked 20 cases of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) and 10 healthy persons regarding the type A behavior pattern. All showed adapted child (AC) score 4 or less, by previous egogram check list. The 20 CSC cases comprised 10 recurrent and 10 non-recurrent ones. All happened to be males. Type A behavior pattern, as evaluated by the questionnaire method by Maeda, was found in 60% of recurrent cases, in 10% of non-recurrent ones, and none in the healthy persons. The difference between recurrent and non-recurrent cases was significant (p < 0.1). The difference between recurrent and healthy group was also significant (p <0.05) . The findings show that patients with recurrent CSC with lower AC score have a higher incidence of type A behavior pattern than those with non-recurrent CSC or healthy persons.
