We attempted to detect choroidal vascular abnormality in 14 eyes of central serous chorioretinopathy using digitalized imaging of fluorescein angiogram and color fundus photograph. Unaffected 11 eyes served as control. After digitalization of early-phase fluorescein angiogram and color fundus photograph, we calculated the averaged choroidal brightness in the whole affected area and in the center of detached area. The former value was significantly greater than in controls. The choroidal brightness around the site of leakage was significantly greater than in other areas. The findings reflect the possible involvement of choroidal vascular abnormality in this disease entity.
