A 60-year-old male presented with central scotoma in his right eye since one weeks before. His right visual acuity was 0.4. Funduscopy showed oval-shaped serous retinal detachment of one disc diameter. The superior temporal vein was attenuated and showed hyper fluorescein. Branch retinal vein occlusion developed 4 weeks later. Systemic treatment with hemolytic agents resulted in improvement of visual acuity to 1.0 ten weeks later. The present case illustrates that exudative retinal lesion may manifest as precursor of branch retinal vein occlusion.
