Purpose:To evaluate the correlation between retinal thickness and sensitivity in eyes with macular edema secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion. Cases and Methods:Retinal thickness was measured by an optical coherence tomography and retinal sensitivity was measured by a microperimeter in 7 affected eyes. Retinal thickness and sensitivity were evaluated as the difference between affected and healthy retinal area divided by that of healthy area. Results:Retinal thickness and sensitivity were negatively correlated in retinal areas inner(r=-0.92,p=0.004)and outer(r=-0.83,p=0.02)to the lesion. Conclusion:Increased retinal thickness may be one of the reasons for decreased retinal sensitivity in branch retinal vein occlusion.
