　黄斑部を含む網膜静脈分枝閉塞症の2例について，OCTを用いた網膜の形態的変化の検討を加えて経過観察を行った。1例は上耳側の陳旧性網膜静脈分枝閉塞症で，網膜光凝固治療により網膜静脈閉塞領域に認められた網膜浮腫が著明に改善し，浮腫で肥厚した中心窩網膜厚が正常者の網膜厚近くまで改善するとともに視力改善が得られた。また，他の1例は，下耳側の網膜静脈分枝閉塞症で，網膜静脈閉塞領域に著明な網膜浮腫に加えて滲出性網膜剥離の存在をOCT像で認め，経過観察中に乳頭上新生血管および虹彩ルベオーシスを生じた。これらの症例では，OCT所見が従来の検査法に加えて，網膜の形態的変化を示すことから治療経過の把握および予後の推定に有用であることを示唆している。

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) was performed on two eyes of branch retinal vein occlusion involving the macula. Laser photocoagulation on one eye induced resolution of retinal edema. OCT showed the decrease of swollen macula to the normal value. In another affected eye, OCT showed extensive retinal edema and exudative retinal detachment. Disc neovascularization and rubeosis iridis developed later. These findings illustrate the usefulness of OCT examinations in assessing the effect of treatment and the probable outcome in vaso-occlusive retinal diseases.
